This one in particular erupted just three weeks before I took this shot, and was on high alert for another eruption at that moment. Climbing up to the rim, we had ash raining down on us. Once arriving up the top, it was a truly unearthly scene, made it feel as if we were exploring ruins from another world. A bizarre experience. - Clint Burkinshaw
