An image from Big Bend in honor of Ansel Adams birthday. I shot this sunset in Big Bend of the Chisos Mountains on Velvia 50 sheet film and while it looked good in color, I thought there might be a good black and white in it too. I used Nik Silver Effects to do the conversion.

Rio Grande Sunrise in Big Bend

A view of the Rio Grande and Chisos Mountains in Big Bend. This is one of the larger and least visited parks in the NPS. You have to want to get here to be here and it is truly the end of the road. The right hand bank is Mexico and to go any further you need a passport.

A place of dark skies and dramatic views.

I would tell people to visit here, but I think most should go to California!! They would like it so much better than Texas. :-)
