Christian, Muslim, Protestant, Catholic, Buddhist ... all these labels are adjectives. It would thus have made sense for the word to be “a Jewish.” (Of course in Hebrew it’s the adjective — yehudi — for that matter.)

And I’m IN my car (parked, not to worry!) doing the interview. Midway through my boxing training, still got my wraps on.

I’ll be on the radio at 5:15 analyzing Israeli elex with my favourite broadcaster @alannealottawa (is it okay to have favourites?) — 18 years after he first interviewed me — on @cbcallinaday

In which the former premier of Ontario wishes my former grad student and co-author (and featured op-ed writer in my new book!) congrats on tenure. Love this. twitter.com/BobRae48/statu…

Academic friends: I'm available for op-ed writing workshops. I just returned from @Illinois_Alma , and am headed to @RiceUniversity in May. (And this week at @Carleton_U !). Ping me if you want to consider bringing me to your campus.

Well, I just wrote a book on how to be persuasive on social media. I have to show that it’s actually attainable!

Is @IlhanMN being subjected to scrutiny this week because of white supremacy? Maybe. But more likely it’s because she’s tipping sacred cows (and kudos to her for challenging some taken-for-granted assumptions about the proper role of America’s place in the world).

For example, I don’t agree with @bungarsargon’s take on @IlhanMN’s tweet. But neither do I buy the critics of Batya who accuse her criticism of being racist. That accusation is simply unfounded.

Can we debate policy support to Israel without accusing critics of necessarily being antisemitic, and can we debate whether a metaphor is antisemitic without accusing critics of the metaphor as necessarily being racist? The waters have muddied.

True that...but sometimes it’s not the interlocutor who is going to learn, but the many other folks watching and listening. It’s a point I make in my new book, Public Influence. pic.twitter.com/MtBjDOqI73
