The phrase is yours for the taking. Was listening again to your new "Tex" CD in the car. It's a wonder.

That children need to find a sense of control, and that a system of rewards, one custom-designed with each, can do that, with spin-off effects among all caretakers, and throughout life -- call it agency, growing sense of selfhood, anything -- momentous to point it out.

Not according to this, Sharon, unless you define "elderly" as 50-64, which I'd rather not!

Yes, Megan, but I don't have a good enough visual memory to have excelled. I wouldn't mind going back to school and getting a PhD on, say, Giovanni DiPaolo, though. Hey, maybe I will some day. ;-#)

Liberal Arts is the foundation of true education. The Masters understood that the 7 liberal arts develops the Human Soul & Human Being. A Lit or Eng major will far outlast & develop the human being than courses for jobs. Critical Thinking is the best thing to get from college.

Arlie Hochschild tries to bridge the 2-Americas gap, I try to chronicle her attempt at mutual understanding if not agreement & you just take sides & to widen the divide. I'm not taking the bait. Sharon Galicia & all the Arenos are now my friends. We're looking for common ground.

Great piece, Paul. We need the industry government brings in and bows to, but we blame government for the problems created. Not sure we can have it both ways.
