I would sooner believe this says more about literacy challenges in Kiryat Arba.

With more than 90% of the votes counted, Likud and Blue-and-White are tied with 35 Knesset seats each, because one more small party (Balad-Raam, an Arab party) seems to have crossed the threshold.

I support political autonomy and self determination for Israelis and Palestinians. If you agree, and after tonight you talk about "the two-state solution," instead of "equal rights," you're not helping our cause.

I think this might underestimate the extent of the state of delusion most otherwise middle of the road Israelis are in w/r/t the occupation. The consequences have to grab the attention of regular Israelis.

It has to be the whole state. If Tel Avivim don't see the consequences they won't vote to change their causes.

Moreover, no one is suggesting alternatives and no one is considering the nonexistent suggestions. It's creeping annexation under unnecessarily oppressive military occupation.

This is a complete misreading of what I said. Military occupation and creeping annexation have natural diplomatic consequences. Netanyahu has convinced Israelis those consequences don't exist.

The idea that security is only possible through occupation is a lie told by the right to protect creeping annexation. Israelis won't vote for change because there haven't been any consequences for the occupation. Bibi convinced the nation they can have their cake and eat it too.

Very true. It would have only temporarily delayed the rightward lurch. At least now the pressure is on Bibi: risk over playing his hand vis-a-vis annexation or walk back his promises. We'll see how far he can perpetuate the delusion of permanent occupation+normalcy for Israel.

This is absolutely true. Peace efforts now must change from a call for two states to a call for equal rights.

Until there are consequences for Israel's occupation for Israelis, they won't vote to change it. Netanyahu (especially with Trump) has succeeded in convincing Israelis they can have all the security/containment the occupation promises and none of the international fallout.

I don't know and I'm too tired to go looking. I'd just hate to celebrate Bennett's failure and wake up to his toothy grin.
