*sigh* There’s one thing that has bugged me about this “doing it for attention” narrative. So what? The abused and harmed deserve our (kind and supportive) attention. The whole concept of attention being bad stems from a misogynistic reaction to women’s issues being centered.

Real talk though: I think a scientific approach to any art form is good. Form hypothesis, experiment with different things, test and iterate, be open to having your presumption invalidated. Doesn’t matter if it’s a painting or a mobile app or a formula.

If you're going to put people somewhere, don't put them on pedestals. Put them inside china cabinets.

Last week, I read a chapter of Exits at an open mic night and the audience was completely into it and I can’t shake the awesomeness of that feeling away.

What’s more dangerous than a person who has no idea what they’re doing? A person who has no idea what they’re doing but thinks they do.

It’s hot and I wore shorts and exactly 7 men walked into poles or trees while attempting to check me out. That’s a record for me! I hope they have good health insurance...

I used to think that the whole idea of tech CEOs avoiding decision fatigue by wearing the same thing everyday was reasonable. Then I realized that I don’t want people who think choosing their clothing is that overwhelming a task to be leading any industry or company.

I prefer communicating through Slack/email/etc for most things because it’s easier to step away from a conversation that has low value or diminishing returns on those platforms than it is to do in real life.
