If they cant , or we cant reduce our energy demands then the planet is heading for over 2 degree temp increases, thats the reality that others ignore, including fossil fuel lobbyists.

Globally if we burn the proved reserves and continue exploration for new sources we will head into 3 and 4° temp increases. This would make current extreme weather seem like a picnic, ongoing reliance on fossil fuels will also crowd out a switch to renewables on the scale needed.

Thanks for that; firstly the graph shows how things are. The bill wont turn off gas tomorrow. It will stop exploration for new forms of fossil fuels. We need to leave 80% of proven reserves in the ground to avoid temp increases over 2°.
