A fascinating video about Edward Vajda's study of the Ket people in Siberia. Dr. Vajda is a UW Slavic alum, receiving his MA in 1983 and his Ph.D. in 1987, both in Slavic Linguistics!

Schedule Update!!! A time conflict has required us to change the day and time of our Advanced Russian Table. Rather than Wednesdays at 1230 the group will now be meeting on Thursdays at 130. The meetings will still be in Padelford A216. See you then!

Mark your calendars for Wed Oct 10th. The Slavic department will be holding a screening of Polish film "the Promised Land" at 630pm in Thomson Hall. This film is one of Martin Scorsese's masterpieces of Polish cinema. Not to be missed. Details on our FB and website.
