The lockdown at UC has now been lifted following Police clearance. Students and staff may now exit buildings. As there is a progressive lifting of the lockdown please don’t rush to leave UC and be patient on the roads as traffic may be heavy. Watch out for emergency vehicles.

All classes, tests and activities to be held at the University of Canterbury on Friday 15 March have been cancelled.
This is in response to incidents off campus in central Christchurch today.

As you may be aware, there has been an incident off campus and Police have asked UC to institute a lock down. What this means is that all staff and students should stay where they are. People will be able to exit buildings but will not be able to enter. Updates to come.
