Thanks to Automatic Voter Registration in her state, said that 90% of Oregonians are now registered to vote. Voter turnout also increased. Now, the plan is to make it even easier for Oregon’s eligible voters to exercise their fundamental right.

I tell young people: if 90% of the people who are voting are over the age of 65, then that's who candidates listen to. If we get more young people out to vote, it will absolutely change the issues candidates are focused on.

We should remove every single barrier that prevents people from participating in the fundamental act of voting. In Oregon, this is a bipartisan effort.

In Oregon, 200k more people under 50 voted in 2018, versus 2014— even though the turnout rate of registered voters under 50 stayed the same. Making voting more accessible = more people voting.

The work of the School Safety Task Force is incredibly important. It brings together educators and administrators with mental health professionals and law enforcement under a common goal: making our schools — and our kids — safer.

Today I met with educators from across the state about the challenges they face. I know we can work together to ensure every one of our students is set up for success, from preschool to K-12 and onward to universities & community colleges. I'm committed, and I know they are too.
