As Orthodox Jews, we proudly adhere to regulations in conjunction with our leaders to vaccinate our kids with MMR vaccines. Vaccinating our youth is in accordance with Jewish law and the proper way to prevent what could be a fatal virus.

We urge everyone who can get vaccinated to get vaccinated. As Passover is coming up, it’s important that all New Yorkers get vaccinated, especially if they plan to travel overseas to Europe or Israel, or to areas in the U.S. that are experiencing large outbreaks.

I know that parents may be afraid of getting their child vaccinated, but as a pediatrician, I know that getting vaccinated is far safer than getting measles. The vaccine has been proven safe and effective in preventing the spread of measles for decades and we have evidence.

Young children and people who have weakened immune systems cannot get vaccinated, so it’s crucial that everyone around them be vaccinated in order to shield them from the infection.

We’ve worked closely with the community, religious leaders, and schools to make sure vulnerable people are kept safe during this outbreak and to challenge the dangerous misinformation being spread by a group of anti-vaxxers.

Measles can be serious and fatal — and mandatory exclusions for unvaccinated children are in effect for certain Yeshivas and daycares. I urge parents who haven't gotten their kids vaccinated yet to do so before Yom Tov. It's safe and the best way to protect your children.

Inspiring words that capture much of what we are working towards w through our school mental health coaches. Health is as much about the emotional as it is about the physical - preventive care is key.

This is a great step forward for public health and will bring state policy in line with current New York City law. I commend state lawmakers for helping to curb the teen vaping epidemic and working to end ’s hold over our youth.

To kick off National Public Health Week, I visited and discussed how is empowering communities to be co-creators of health initiatives, rather than just recipients of them.
