2/ My maternal grandfather's family fled from Ukraine to the United States after Russian soldiers killed two of his siblings in front of their home for being Jewish. As a Jew, I'm the target of white supremacists. At the same time, as a white male, I carry structural privilege.

1/ It's true that being a white male comes with privilege. Nobody succeeds without help. I also faced a lot of struggle. My mom raised me by herself. Though she worked extremely hard, we lost our home to foreclosure. I remember the money stress my mom quietly and often tackled. twitter.com/anylaurie16/st…
