We can give real meaning to the celebration of the #AfricaDay, and hail the implementation of the AfCFTA when all African countries adopt within the shortest possible time, a visa-free regime for all African Passport holders.
Happy Africa Day.

I had the honour as President to introduce a visa on arrival scheme for all holders of African passports. Rwanda and other countries have since followed suit. #AfricaDay2019

While we celebrate the AfCFTA, we need to remind our leaders that, we cannot trade freely, and connect our continent if we cannot travel freely into each other’s countries. #AfricaDay2019

While progress has been slow on our integration project, on this occasion, we celebrate the expected entering into force of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). It is indeed a major development. #AfricaDay2019

When we talk about migration, it is not all Africans that head towards Europe. There’s more migration among our countries than going out. So if we develop our economies, our children and people will migrate to our countries and not out. #TanaForum Chair @JDMahama at 8th TanaForum pic.twitter.com/vbLlmITYOG

I encourage the Ghana Journalists Association, media men & women and bloggers to consider deeply & discuss how to remain relevant to society within the framework of the 2019 theme, “Media for Democracy, Journalism and Elections in Times of Disinformation”.

As has been asked by UNESCO, “How can journalism rise above emotional content and fake news during an election? What should be done to counter speeches demeaning journalists? To what extent should electoral regulations be applied to the internet?”

The reaction of governments to the work of journalists, and the impact of inaccurate news reports by journalists are issues that have dominated journalism over the last few years.
