Hey hon, how was your day today? Did you and your fellow Border Patrol agents catch some bad guys? Um, not really. Truth is I took a baby away from her mother while she was breastfeeding. We separated the mom and baby, maybe forever. You did what? Just following orders.

., Protecting should be a piece of cake! It’s as simple as allowing a public debate and vote on a bipartisan bill that protects these young people. How about it? Sincerely,

Perspective | Separating children from parents at the border isn’t just cruel. It’s torture.

There is absolutely nothing "suitable" about these conditions for these children. This is yet another deplorable move from an administration that seems fixated on hurting Latino families.

If you serve in the military, your family should be protected from deportation. If you come to this country fleeing violence, you should be protected from deportation. If you come here to protect your child from violence, you should not be subjected to family separation.

How does taking an 8-year old from their parents and jailing them make us safer? It doesn’t. That’s why we are gathering at Freedom Plaza today at 1:30 to demand answers.

Earlier this year, Secretary Mattis said that the brave DACA recipients who choose to serve our country in the armed forces would not be at risk for deportation. Today, I offered an amendment in the Appropriations Committee to codify those words.

The Trump Administration’s decision to deny asylum to victims of domestic and gang violence is heartless and dangerous. I stand with those seeking a safe haven in our country. We must help the most vulnerable among us.

Today I joined my fellow members of to call for an end to the Administration's policy of separating families at our border. This policy is immoral & unamerican. Ds & Rs must work together for a long-term solution to make our system fair & functional

I denounce the Trump Administration’s heartless, senseless decision to reject asylum for victims of domestic and gang violence. We must not ignore their desperate pleas. Denying them refuge has nothing to do with America's security -- it's just cruel and inhumane.

Seeking refuge is a human right. That is why I reject the Trump administration’s heartless decision to bar asylum for victims of domestic and gang violence. I will continue to fight to ensure the most vulnerable are able to find a safe haven in our country.
