Today marks 100 years of women's suffrage in Germany: on 19 January 1919 women were allowed to vote and be elected for the first time. It was a first step to equality between men and women and a truly great moment for German democracy.

56 years ago, on 22 Jan 1963, Chancellor Adenauer and President de Gaulle signed the treaty. 🇩🇪 & 🇫🇷 will renew this foundation of our friendship with a new far-reaching treaty, which was approved by the German cabinet yesterday and will be signed on 22 Jan 2019.
