In 2018 planted approximately 60, 000 trees. this will help save up to approximately 350 metric tons of CO2 – the trees will all have different benefits to the local environment

We have supported tea farmers to develop 12 tree nurseries, inc. 4 groups of farmers’ children. Mavuto, ETP’s environment coordinator says: “We’re nurturing the next generation of environmental leaders & helping them to take action from childhood. The response is amazing”

ETP trains farmers on all beekeeping aspects from establishing the hive through to marketing and distribution. Beekeepers should harvest 60 kg a year & earn an income of 180, 000 kwacha, making a huge difference to their lives. 📷Andy Hall

The whole community in shares the environmental benefits of beekeeping. Bees help reduce deforestation as trees become worth more uncut and all farmers or villagers with kitchen gardens benefit from the rich ecosystem the bees support. 📷Andy Hall

Farmer & beekeeper, Felester explains how hives are hung & protected by the forest. “We chose the forest for the apiary... smearing beeswax over the hives attracts the bees. We smear grease over the wires to stop ants & other insects getting into hives.” 📷:Andy Hall
