I know that I’m late to this party, but just watched, and rewatched, and rewatched “Get Out”. Pretty much a perfect movie.

40% is the classic raccoon-favorite-no-penalty-deniability-but-will-cash-in-big-time-if-I’m-lucky prediction. I should make a dozen 40% predictions.

Hmm, the hundreds of billions in "selling pressure" from risk parity didn't happen, so must've been something else. Let's see ... retail investor margin calls! Yep, there's your culprit! The Gell-Mann Amnesia effect in action.

An Epsilon Theory classic by ! "Whom Fortune Favors" - so good we split it into two notes. Start with Part 1 and thank me later.

Wonder how long it'll take for Sheriff Israel to be photoshopped out of this picture.

Because it's the only way to implement negative interest rates effectively, and that's the Big Gun of Team Elite's future monetary policy. You can read the IMF working paper on it here (), or anything by Ken Rogoff.

Then the system goes! Better that than “protecting” the system from its own citizens by limiting their voice.

Because democracy dies in the darkness of Bezos and Murdoch. Because I might be wrong. Because I still believe in a marketplace of ideas. Because I'm playing a long game that's not defined by this single issue. Because liberty and justice for all demands it.

The emergence of the Parkland kids as a political voice is an unmitigated Good Thing, even though I agree with nothing I've heard them say. A political voice is the most valuable thing in the world, which is why Murdoch and Bezos pay so much to have one. Voice > Vote

Team Elite now looks wistfully to China, where they still understand the joy of the supercilious State. Waiting for the Project Syndicate paper on the crucial relationship between good government and trains running on time.

This was exactly the argument made against the Suffragettes. “They’re hysterical. They’re being manipulated.” It was a bad take then, and it’s a bad take now.

Really enjoyed this conversation with . As a financial planner who also happens to have adopted the farm lifestyle 20 years ago I loved the analogies between farming and investing. “Bees are essentially risk managers”. Spot on 👊
