NLP designs and implements a variety of student news literacy workshops. NLP staff work with a sponsoring organization to develop instructional content and learning experiences that provide participants with an overview of news literacy and often focus on a particular issue or theme. NLP trainers then deliver the content and work with the youth participants to produce a final project that reflects and builds on their understanding of key concepts. These workshops vary from a half-day to two or more weeks and are negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
