The web part also comes with a tool-part menu for changing list data and list view display as well as switching on/off RadGrid's most important capabilities. The tool-part is shown through the "Edit Web Part" option on the web part menu. The tool-part features two custom property-setting panels. The List Settings one allows for binding the RadGrid control to a different Sharepoint list or a different view of the currently selected one whereas through the GridSettings panel various features of RadGrid can be turned on/off:
Adding new records to a SPList and editing existing ones is made possible through RadGrid's integration with the native Sharepoint insert/edit dialogues. They give the additional convenience of the Ribbon tool bar with its powerful features and functionality.
In order to have data-editing capabilities switched on the user has to provide the necessary permission credentials. In this example, for security reasons those have not been granted to the visitors of the site.
Finally, the Telerik Web Part controls, namely TelerikRadEditor and TelerikSPRadGrid, will be shipped with an installer which will take care of their deployment and feature activation.
