Connect from off campus
Our license agreements for electronic resources restrict off-campus access to current Stanford faculty, staff, students, and approved affiliates only. If you are off campus (or not using the Stanford network), you must identify yourself as a Stanford user by using a link that includes a special EZproxy prefix, https://stanford.idm.oclc.org/login?url=. For example, in order to have full-text access to Nature, your browser must use this web address:
https://stanford.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http://www.nature.com
You can add this prefix manually or use one of the following shortcut tools:
EZproxy Bookmarklet
For desktops and laptops:
- Make sure the bookmark toolbar is enabled.
- Drag the link below onto your browser's bookmarks toolbar:
Stanford Libraries Proxy
- Navigate to a webpage or a database that you are trying to access (e.g., http://www.jstor.org/).
- Click on the “Stanford Libraries Proxy” bookmark in your browser's toolbar, which will reload the page via EZproxy.
For mobile devices:
- Create a bookmark for this page (or any webpage).
- Change the name of the bookmark to “Stanford Libraries Proxy.”
- Change the bookmark’s URL to:
javascript:void(location.href=%22https://stanford.idm.oclc.org/login?url=%22+location.href);
NOTE: If you have disabled javascript, you will need to enable it.
