Hi All,
We thought of having a meetup. Since we have not done anything lately what do you think? We can have one or 2 speakers and then just catch up network what ever you want to call it. Let us know your thoughts. I guess @mimran will email you the details shortly.

Guys,
I'm currently in a fully stuck with work situation :(, but let me know the planning. I will contribute and we can also post it through the colombo drupal meetup.
Staying connected
Hey everyone, This is a good initiative, just thinking a bit further, if we can get the SL community talking and collaborating regularly amongst themselves, it would go a long way in getting the group self organised, and we would find a lot more momentum. @mimran and @nmeegama have started up a slack group and it would be great if we could get as many of the current 116 members on this group currently added in there. Its a great way to keep in touch and collaborating on solutions and initiatives.
So as a start if everyone can start trying to get as many people on there it would be a good way to start. What do you guys think?

Having a meetup is a great idea.
Hi Guys,
Its a great idea. Compared to most of other CMS's and Frameworks, Drupal is less talked about. Even I only got to know how powerful it can be as both a CMS and a Framework, after i started working with it. So it would be great to take this to more people and get them on board.
I saw on a earlier comment about two topics, Module development and Theme development, but i think if we are planing to do this as a monthly meetup, It's better we startup with "what is drupal and why its different" ( just an example ) or something like that and carry on before jumping straight in to Moudule or Theme development. In that way, both the beginners for CMS and Frameworks and people who have used other CMS's but not drupal, can join to get interested on this. then we can plan the sessions to gradually teach them how to work on Drupal.
So just a suggestion. please keep posting your ideas.
Nilan.
