3:05 PM
@Gemtastic Congrats!!

I'm working on a new setup, and unfortunately, it's kinda hacked right now and I can't fix it until later this month, probably 2 weeks more
@ItachiUchiha Hey stranger

@ItachiUchiha ty :)

@Gemtastic How much do you get?
@Joe'sMorgue Hey dear!

@ItachiUchiha From new year on I'll earn about €2800/month

What's been going on?
@Gemtastic Is that good?

3:07 PM
Before tax that is

@Gemtastic you used to clean toilets?

What is your tax rate?

@Joe'sMorgue long time no see..

@Joe'sMorgue It's ok entry level wage for this region, but a big lift compared to what they normally increase the first year wage :)
@Joe'sMorgue 33% up till €3600/month

I relocated
@Gemtastic That's INSANE!

3:09 PM
Not really
It's that tax that's been paying for my healthcare and education up 'til now
I'll gladly pay so that another person like me can realize their dreams

I'd consider paying that if I had healthcare and education, but then again, I'm retired

In socialist Sweden Healthcare, education (even in university!) is tax funded

I wish I only had to pay 33%

@tavo you earn too much?

not really

3:11 PM
Passed €3600/month the tax goes up. Most companies try to go around it with other perks with lower tax. Like breakfast at work

but taxes in the UK are high. Really high if you consider that most of the public infrastructure is being privatised
I pay something like 41-42%

Infrastructure is privatized here as well
Which is weird

I think last year I made 82-86k

here too
but not all

I'm wondering how much that is in my money....

3:12 PM
We only have a government monopoly on booze.
We're not allowed to have it, but we do anyway

I'm happy to pay taxes in order to fund public services like health, transport, etc

I think the cost of living around London makes things expensive AF
Transport isn't free

@Tavo after taxes? in GBP?

no, no. Before taxes. In GBP

In Sweden you always talk about your wage before tax
I dunno why though

3:14 PM
I pay £146 a month in transport. And it's always broken or late

@Gemtastic I think everybody does

It's kinda strange since you only get a thrid of that, or less XD

40% tax must leave you with around 50-60k

@Joe'sMorgue true

I also put another 15% in my private pension plan

3:14 PM
@Joe'sMorgue Not everyone. A lot of people talk after tax

Do you use public transport, or do you own your vehicle?

that is if you have slabs

so it's another big chunk that goes away...
but in Singapore I'm going to be rich :P
I'll be paying my mortgage in no time! \o/

do they pay more than what you get paid in UK?

a lot more. And taxes are extremely low
around 17%

3:18 PM
Where are you Tavo?

London currently
but I've moved around quite a lot

wow, amazing

I know, right?

I'm still in Michigan, but I have this cute little place on a river.

I don't think I could live in Michigan. London is already too cold for me

3:20 PM
We got hit a few days ago, got buried with about 8 inches of snow, and temp is plummeting over the next few days... It get to about -7C in 2 days

@Joe'sMorgue pic

or it didn't happen :P

Hold

lol

No cell service (I live ina valley)
My phone was off, going to take a pic of my view RIGHT NOW
I know...Slow
I uploaded it, but it's not there!!!! WTH?!?!?!?!
I uploaded it, now it's there twice!
That's all private land across the river. He won't develop it to allow the people on this side to keep their privacy!

3:37 PM
that's quite nice

It's great! MOST of the houses around me are cottages, so it's QUIET...
I had 5 cars pass my driveway ALL day yesterday, TWO were here for plowing, and two were service vehicles, as a neighbor is getting a new furnance

I don't know if I could live that far away from civilization tbh
but looks pretty relaxing

The town is 3 miles away, real towns are a half hour drive.

yeah, that's my point

If I need something fast, I go to my town, OK, it's called a village, but that sounds wrong to me... I plan for trips to the real town

4:06 PM
oh, there's a leap second scheduled for this year

I can't leap that far

you mean that fast? :P

No, I'm talented enough to leap into the future
Actually, I don't know how to NOT leap into the future!

Hey guys

Greetings

4:10 PM
@Joe'sMorgue quite a good point

EVERY time I leap, I land in the future
