App Cloner Beta
#clone #appcloner #whatsapp #androidapp #betatesting
Using App Cloner you can create and install multiple copies of your existing apps.
Please read about the incompatibilities below. You can get in touch with me at [email protected]. I'm happy to provide support and answer your questions.
Cloned apps run in parallel and work independently from their original apps. They will not receive automatic updates so you can keep and run a stable version alongside the original app.
App cloning can be useful to simultaneously use multiple logins in apps such as Facebook, Twitter or Skype but the real fun starts by messing around with an app. App Cloner offers a multitude of modding options to tweak the new app copy.
You can change the app name and icon. You can remove permissions or allow a cloned app to be installed on the external SD-card. You can disable auto-start, app backups or intrusive app defaults. Or convert your app into a floating window app.
App Cloner can extend a cloned app to add functionality such as password protection, incognito mode, hiding the Android ID or spoofing locations. You can also force the app to consume data over Wi-Fi only. Each update will add more options.
Premium version features
The free version allows basic cloning. Upgrade to premium to enjoy the full set of options:
Clone WhatsApp, Messenger & Gmail
Create multiple app clones & use batch cloning
Save or share cloned apps
Replace launcher icons
Clone watch apps, watch faces
Display options:
Floating apps & free-form windows (see https://goo.gl/pd2mwH)
Change status, navigation and toolbar colors
Change the rotation lock
Change the app display size, language, font & font size
Keep screen on, immersive mode
Enable multi-window support
Privacy options:
Remove app permissions
Password-protect apps
Incognito mode for apps
Exclude app from recents
Change Android ID, hide IMEI, Wi-Fi MAC
Prevent app from appearing in screenshots
Spoof location
Storage options:
Allow apps to be installed on external SD-card
Allow/prevent app backups
Sandbox external storage
Clear cache on exit
Launching options:
Remove widgets, launcher icon
Disable auto-start
Disable app defaults
Networking options:
Disable mobile data
Disable background networking
SOCKS proxy (route traffic via proxy)
Notification options:
Notification filter
Silence notifications
Change notification color
Automation options:
Set brightness or mute on start
Do not Disturb, Wi-Fi & Bluetooth controls
Tasker integration
Incompatibilities
Not all apps can be cloned! Cloned apps may crash, show errors or work incorrectly.
Features that depend on the app certificate like Google account logins, Google Play Services, Google Play Games, Google Drive backup or in-app purchases WILL NOT WORK!
Cloning an app will change its certificate, which means the clone may not work in case the app validates the certificate or uses advanced copy-protection.
Some apps that CANNOT be cloned:
Most Google apps (due to Google Play Services)
Snapchat
BBM
Viber
Evernote
OneDrive
Skype for Business
Trello
WeChat
YouTube
Use 'Report app issue' to report a problem with a cloned app.
To install the clones from your device you need to enable Settings > Security > Unknown sources. If the Install button is disabled or doesn't click, you must temporarily disable overlay apps such as Twilight.
Anti-virus apps may show warnings for cloned apps. These warnings are false positives and can be ignored. They are caused by the unofficial certificate used to sign clones.
The premium version supports 20 clones. You may donate to support App Cloner development and unlock up to 1000 clones. All product names and brands mentioned above are property of their respective owners.

Podcast Player - Free beta
https://www.testingcatalog.com/project/387
Never miss a single episode of your preferred topics
Are you fed up with listening to podcasts which are simply not your cup of tea? Do you want to get only the right information from the right podcasts? We've been making our intelligent algorithms smarter so that they recommend you the right episodes, and guess what – you can receive the recommendations via email, on a weekly basis. We are making the first steps towards much more powerful recommendations of the right trending episodes to the right people, which are also to emerge in the app's "Discover" tab very soon.
You may opt in and get weekly recommendations by email at https://player.fm/prefs (available in the web app for now, but will be made available in the Android app, too). Just tick the check box and start receiving recommendations via email (every email client is acceptable).
Your feedback on this feature will be of great help to us and will definitely contribute to enhancing this feature further.
If you have other questions of suggestions, feel free to bring them up.

AppSheet User Community

Clarifying user sign-in requirement when using USEREMAIL()
As some of you know, if you use USEREMAIL() or USERNAME() in an app that doesn't require sign-in, we've started to show deprecation warnings, which will switch to errors on Jan 20th. This is fixing a loophole in our app verification logic. This path was never intended to work.
However, we recognize that a few app creators have used this unintentional loophole to "roll-their-own" app security. Broadly speaking, the approach used is: (a) do not require app sign-in, (b) inform my app users that they should log in even though the app doesn't require it, (c) utilize USEREMAIL() within the app to hide or show information via expressions/slices,
For a long time, we have been emphasizing what a bad idea this is. There is even an explicit checkbox in the app definition that requires the app creator to certify that they have read the security article explaining why it is a bad idea. I have updated this article to further clarify why this is a bad idea from a security point of view. https://help.appsheet.com/security/user-access- control/require-sign-in-the-essentials. The article also has a few suggestions of things you actually can do without requiring user sign-in.
In most of these cases, the primary motivating factor is the low cost of the public plans and a willingness to trade-off app security for the lower cost. I understand and empathize. It is natural to want the lowest-cost alternative.
As a platform provider though, we have to take security seriously. We have been in the unfortunate situation of having to talk to app creators who didn't set up security, had a user leave their organization after a dispute and mess with their data. We've also seen app creators try to use slice filtering to roll their own security. Anyone with basic knowledge of a browser can break this kind of "security" and see all the data behind it.
As a business, security and user sign-in are in fact the primary distinguishing factor between our public plans and our secure plans. The secure plans cost more because they add more value to a business customer, and that is what we monetize. I suppose we could have chosen to differentiate and monetize on a different feature axis. However, this is the choice we made more than two years ago, it works for most of our customers and we have been transparent about this.
For the customers currently on a public plan but using the USEREMAIL() feature, please send us an email ([email protected]) with the following info:
1) who is using your app? members of your team or members of the general public?
2) what do you use USEREMAIL() for? is it just to capture user identity in input forms, or is it also in condition logic?
3) do you show different data or views or actions to different users based on USEREMAIL()?
4) how many unique users do you have per month?
You'll need to use a Secure plan, but we'll figure out how to get you onto the least expensive Secure plan that can work for your app.
