Jewish Studies

Distance Learning is currently available for students enrolled in the Spertus Institute Master of Arts in Jewish Studies (MAJS), Doctor of Science in Jewish Studies (DSJS), and Doctor of Jewish Studies (DJS) programs.

The academic standards and requirements for courses taken through Distance Learning are identical to those for courses taken at Spertus Institute's Chicago campus, only the methods of course delivery are different. Students who opt to take their degree primarily through Distance Learning have complete flexibility as to when they wish to "attend" classes, according to their individual schedules.

ADMISSION INFORMATION

Before registering for Distance Learning courses, students must be admitted to one of Spertus Institute's Jewish Studies graduate programs — or be accepted as non-degree student who meets pre-requisite requirements and wishes to enroll in courses for credit.

Costs

Reasonable tuition rates encourage participation by students in a range of disciplines from around the world. In fact, Spertus Jewish Studies students hail from 26 US states and 6 foreign countries.

  • Masters level tuition
    $350 per quarter-hour credit
    ($1050 per 3qh course)

  • Doctoral level tuition 
    $400 per quarter-hour credit
    ($1200 per 3qh course)

Students must be admitted before registering for courses. A registration fee of $25 is added at the time of payment.
