I was looking to change my code from API 2 to API 3, when I noticed that
there isn't a traffic incident option, like in API 2. I was able to add
traffic data, but I like the markers for construction and such.

Any idea on whether that will be possible soon, and if so, when?

Thanks,

Jeff

(Updated title)

Thanks for filing Jeff. Incidents are not yet supported in the Traffic layer. I
can't specify when or if this will be available. In the meantime, we'll let the
feature request accrue Stars as a way to gauge its demand.
Summary: Add support for enabling incidents in the Traffic layer

This is a disappointment that incidents and construction are not included in API V3. Unfortunately our customers are used to this feature in our API V2 implementation and will probably not like the fact this is no longer available. I hope those in higher up positions will reconsider this even if there are not a lot of votes at this time.

I agree with gary. Our customers are also used to this feature. Although its very imperative to upgrade to google maps v3 because of performance, I think there might be another way to implement traffic incident markers. Is there any other possible feeds we can at least mimic the traffic incident markers? For example a kml feed or 3rd party data that can be an alternative?

Yes, my clients are looking for the incidents option as well.

Agree with all the above comments... I recently upgraded an app for a client using v3 maps but the old version had v2 maps with all the traffic incident data. They are unhappy with the lack of this feature, and I assumed there would be a simple fix or api call.

Is there an available kml or xml file of the incidents feed than can be overlayed on the map?

Do we know if the support for traffic incidents will be available in the next release of the API? If not is there a road map in place? Just wanted to inquire about this enhancement as our customers use this feature extensively within our application.

I'd quite like to get traffic incidents/warnings/severity information for the route I'm getting from the google api. Please implement the feature above, or something like it. Cheers.

Any updates on this? I've tried both embedding and the v2 API and neither seem to support traffic incidents. The funny thing is the embed link was grabbed from a map displaying live incidents. Why doesn't the embed work the same as Google's map?

Any news on whether traffic incidents such as new constructions, etc. would be available with Google Maps API v3?

Enabling 3rd part app to query traffic incidents would be very helpful. Any news?

Hi, is there a status update on whether it will be possible to enable incidents' display separate from the traffic layer using the Javascript V3 API? My company works with state departments of transportation who are interested in providing this information to the public. It would be especially helpful in the event of natural disasters, like the recent flooding in Louisiana. Thank you.

Please make traffic speeds and incidents separately configurable options. The incident data isn't as accurate as the traffic speeds, in our experience, and it creates conflicts when other traffuc data sets are overlaid.
