IBC is encouraging the next generation of talent to attend IBC this September and take part in the Broadcast Academy.

The Broadcast Academy is a two part programme taking place on Sunday 17 September welcoming all aspiring sports broadcasters to take part.

Attendees will be given the opportunity to develop their talent through an extensive programme including operational training and the use of the brand new EVS Live TV Simulator, allowing the user to take on the challenges of top level roles.

Train Tomorrow's Stars

Whether it is 2 cameras or 40, every director shares the same goal: to create the most exciting event possible for the audience to watch. This opportunity will improve your skill base to achieve that aim.

Attend the programme on multicamera sports direction where a top sports director will provide an introduction followed by hands-on exercises. All participants will direct a live football match and, thanks to unique technology, will sit in the director's seat to call the shots.

By the end of the 2 part session, you will have an overview of sports production and the production equipment you need for the job.

Encouraging Women in Sports Production and Directing

The Broadcast Academy and IBC have prepared a special session for women wishing to develop their talent, offering the chance to take on the challenges of the top level roles in sports broadcasting.

Top sports directors will share their secrets and expertise to help you get ahead in the field.

You will sit in the director’s seat to call the shots on a football match.

By the end of the session, you will have learnt about the broadcast skills required to succeed.

EVS Live TV Simulator

The EVS Live TV Simulator is set to revolutionise training in the world of broadcasting. HBS is a pioneer host broadcaster for multi-sport international events, and one of the first engineering and production companies to experiment with the latest innovative production techniques like HD, 4K, 3D and Virtual Reality.

The Live TV Simulator is one of a kind: it includes live video servers - enabling up to 16 ISO camera feeds for ingest/playout, instant replay and slow-motion tools and a live video switcher that can be used by multiple trainees simultaneously.
