Andrew Nenakhov: Are web apps supposed to be a space-wasting buttons in launcher? I have twitter and facebook web apps, but all they do is launch chromium, so when i have them both active i also get a chromium with 2 active windows. Or did I do something wrong? It would all be fine if there would be NO separate chromium window, but i can't get rid of it.

(and gmail webapp doesn't work at all)

DAVID GREGORY KERR: Why don't you use Thunderbird, BTW unity-webapp for You Tube causes Mozilla Firefox to lockup and you have to force quit to resume and I think that has to be looked into also could you make Minitube "YouTube" application free not buy as it is the best application for watching Youtube.

The only concern - will "Gmail" webapp be able to open existing "Google Calendar" App or will launch a new one if I ever click on some calendar event/link?

قانت تکمیل: +Ron Morgan : i suspect you meant "allowed" and not "aloud". The idea behind Unity and the HUD, I suppose, is to reduce the number of instances you lift your hand off the keyboard. One need not know which menu or folder a certain application or file belongs to. I have over a thousand research articles on my hdd, and if I start opening each and every folder to locate a particular article, I shall never be able to find it. On the other hand, I can just type in a few words from the file name, and they pop up. I just make sure that I name my papers appropriately.

Ron Morgan: Thank you for correcting my spelling… what i dont think i can do is remember all the files i have. Like you i have thousands. So i like the search function, i just think i would like it if i was so tied to it.

قانت تکمیل: +Ron Morgan : The way I remember my papers is... 'That Stanford paper' or 'The MEMS group paper'. So, I name my files accordingly...

Miguel Mayol: You must install Ubuntu or Mint, and if it is now then
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop

Miguel Mayol: You can upgrade the distro to Precise Pangolin, and if it is Gnome2, add Mate and or Cinnamon to your windows managers.

Or if you only want to test it, with a CD, a DVD or a pendrive, you can use Unetbootin or Multisystem to test the precise pangolin iso at your computer.

Probably unity 2d witll run better at your old machine.
