It'd be funny if there was a "match" for interviews. Like all schools purposely schedule Oct-Jan off, programs will submit invites by say October 10th, students will rank programs that they want to interview at, whether 1-10 or 1-50, and then Oct 12th some proprietary algorithm will schedule dates that fit on this time off period to where it works out for everywhere and waitlist the dates that won't work.

Edit: This way programs know that students want to interview there even without geographical or family ties.

If you rank a program say #15 out of 15, regardless of where a hospital ranks you, if you end up getting to #11 or 12 will the algorithm be like "hmm this person's #15 has lots of unfilled spots, lets put him here" and it's a program you really don't want to attend. Will that happen? Is it safer not to rank the program than to rank it in regards to programs 11-14?
