| Issue 3373: | Mobile version, pinch zoom centre is wrongly calculated if the page is scrolled | |

Hi, I am testing the google maps api on a Honeycomb tablet (Acer Iconia A500). I was initially pleasantly surprised to find out the pinch zoom works in a Google Map embedded on a webpage and viewed in "mobile mode". However, I quickly realised this works properly ONLY if the page is not scrolled. If you have to scroll a page a bit to see the map, when you pinch zoom the zoom centre is not between your fingers, but shifted up by an amount equal to the amount of zoom (but it never gets past the top side of the map). I was able to reproduce it on the stock browser, Dolphin and Skyfire so I would exclude a browser bug. It could be an ACER specific issue (unfortunately I do not have other models to test) but the most likely explanation is a bug in the mobile map code. This is reproducible on every webpage I found where interacting with the map requires vertical scrolling. I attach a simple standalone test case based on the Google Map API tutorial sample code (just altered to add a lot of white spaces on the top, forcing the user to scroll) A workaround would be appreciated.

I have the same issue on the iPad. I put the same map on two different pages, and pushed one down with a div and the one at the top worked fine, but the one pushed down produced this error. It is not ACER specific as mentioned above, I also think it is a map bug.

I am quite happy to have a confirmation it is a google bug. I initially thought it was triggered by multiple nested divs or was a bug in the browser. The fact that it is a Google bug just means one day it will "magically" disappear.

I have this issue too! been doing my head in for months! The same core code on another page that doesn't need scrolling works fine. I'll do some more testing and use exactly the same code on another page but doesn't need to be scrolled down to reach the map and then report back here.

This does not seem to be fixed for me - the Iconia (Android 3.1 - stock browser) still displays the same exact behavious as before on both my application and the sample code I uploaded. Of course I wiped the browser cache multiple times/rebooted to make sure it would have used the new version. Can you please advise?

Not fixed here on iPad either (using v=3.5). Works fine in 3.3 and 3.4 (but then the markers don't react to the 'click' events - see here: https://code.google.com/p/gmaps-api-issues/issues/detail?id=3148 )

Still get the same problem on iPhone (iOS 5.0.1). Map works fine when it fits the screen, scroll down and zoom centre when pinch zoom shifts somewhere up the map div. It seems you can't get v=3.4 now, so this doesn't help.

This issue appears for me on an iPad 2 iOS 5.0.1 using: /api-3/6/14/main.js /api-3/7/15/main.js /api-3/8/7/main.js (The latest)

Still get the same problem with latest iPhone (IOS 5.1)

I have the same problem on my latest iPhone installation 5.1. The zoom center lies outside the map-window.
