Please make possible to set Polyline path using encoded latitude and 
longitudes from DirectionsStep propery encoded_lat_lngs.

I'm not using directions, but would like to have the V2 encoded polyline creation back 
again. They are more compact for transfer via AJAX.

Thanks for the feature request, but we're not planning on implementing this in V3 at this time. There are several 
places you can find for encoding and decoding points to polys in JavaScript - this is a good resource: 
http://facstaff.unca.edu/mcmcclur/GoogleMaps/EncodePolyline/

So I'm assuming you're saying:

* We aren't implementing it into v3
* Go ahead and use encoded polylines, but decode them yourself, in the javascript, and 
push them into the map via normal line APIs
