Logging in - Current AAPT Members

By default, your username is your AAPT Member ID (see below for assistance identifying your member ID)

New Users & Non-members

Create an online user account and your username and password will be emailed to you. Once you have created an account with us, you can login to change or reset your password anytime.

I've forgotten my password (or username) or wish to change it!

Updating your account/contact info

You can update your contact and other information about yourself by visiting the account profile page and clicking edit. If there is anything you are unable to update (for example - deleting an old address), please contact our Membership Department directly via [email protected] or 301-209-3333.

What is my Member ID number? Where do I find it?

Your 5 digit member ID is located on the mailing label of your AAPT journals, directly above your name. It is also printed on all paper renewals.

Common Troubleshooting

I'm not a current AAPT member, but would like to join or renew and receive the discounted rate for a meeting registration immediately.

If you place an order for an AAPT membership and meeting registration in the same cart before completing your order, the member rate appropriate for your member type will be applied to the meeting registration. Follow these simple steps:

  1. Sign in to your online profile (register for free if you have not already) with your AAPT online account.
  2. Click on Join Now (or Renew Now, if you've been a member in the past) under the Membership Status section of your profile.
  3. Complete the joining/renewing process, but stop at the Checkout page and return to AAPT.org
  4. Proceed with registering for the National Meeting you wish to register for via that meeting's registration page.
  5. Once you get to the checkout, you should have the discounted registration rate as well as your membership available for completing the purchase.

Why am I having trouble viewing the AAPT website on my computer?

We recommend that you use the latest version of Firefox or Internet Explorer browser, with cookies, Java, and JavaScript enabled. Also, if your browser’s pop-up blocker is enabled, it must be set to allow pop-up windows from aapt.org. To check pop-up settings in:

  • Firefox, go to Tools > Options> Content > Block Pop-up Windows > Exceptions... > Add the domain aapt.org
  • Internet Explorer, go to Tools> Internet Options> Privacy

I am having issues logging in or using an online service. What are the first steps I should take?
