Google Maps embedded into mobile optimized sites are served low resolution map tiles. It would be nice if the maps were as sharp as the iPhone Google Maps app.

I don't really understand: this problem is apparantely solved and on my iPhone 4 the maps are still not in retina resolution on the browser. Can you help me?

This issue does not seem to be fixed. Both iPhone and iPad with retina displays are still served low resolution satellite images.
