When Gwyneth Paltrow wasn't sharing makeup free selfies on her 44th birthday, the Oscar winner made sure to soak up the sun (even in her sleep). The Iron Man star shared a snap of herself on Instagram Thursday enjoying what looked like the best nap ever, as she curled up in a blue string bikini on top of a plush day bed on the sand. "#tbt Monday when @jcvn40 caught me in an epic nap on the beach," Paltrow captioned the photo. #tbt Monday when @jcvn40 caught me in an epic nap
President Obama is doing anything but closing out his lame duck term quietly. On the contrary he’s doing yet another end run around both the U.S. Congress and all 50 states, imposing yet another mandate that will cost money and jobs, possibly forcing states to raise taxes as well. Twenty-one states have filed a federal lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Sherman, Texas, to stop him. Hours after the states filed their lawsuit, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and other business groups filed a similar lawsuit with the same federal court. Obama’s new mandate would force employers in all states to pay overtime to certain state employees. These employees include “bona fide executive, administrative,

At 9 years old, William Maillis is like a lot of other boys his age, enjoying video games, knock-knock jokes, sports and hanging out with friends. In May, he graduated from high school and is now a college student already working on his own theories of how the universe was created. William, who lives in Penn Township, Pennsylvania, is among the youngest people ever to attend college.
Citing repeated misconduct by an attorney, a federal judge took the rare step Friday of throwing out a jury verdict in favor of a woman who alleged an off-duty Chicago police officer attacked her during a road-rage incident on the Stevenson Expressway nearly nine years ago. U.S. District Judge Sara Ellis blasted attorney Dana Kurtz, saying she engaged in a "pervasive" pattern of misconduct at trial — making repeated misrepresentations to the court, asking questions to deliberately elicit barred testimony and improperly coaching witnesses. The judge also concluded Kurtz had given documents to the Chicago Tribune during the trial in an effort to improperly influence the jury. The ruling not only overturns the jury's verdict in December awarding $260,000 in damages to Nicole Tomaskovic for the July 2007 incident involving Officer William Szura but also ends litigation over whether the city had a pattern and practice of covering up for the actions of bad officers.
DEAR ABBY: I’m about to get custody of my daughter after four years, so I’m a little out of the parenting etiquette loop. A friend of mine has a daughter, “Autumn,” who is an absolute terror and a bully. The girl has been rude to my daughter during the times she has visited. I know I won’t be able to avoid social functions because Autumn’s family is always invited to a mutual friend’s events. My daughter wants nothing to do with her, and I don’t know how to easily avoid play dates. Please advise. — PERPLEXED IN THE WEST DEAR PERPLEXED: Talk to Autumn’s parents about her behavior, so it can be corrected. If you are worried about your daughter having to interact with the girl, suggest that she
I've been big as long as I can remember. Even though I played soccer as a kid, danced in audition-only children's shows, and ran a nine-minute mile in PE, I was always big. My parents — San Francisco yuppie types — fed me a steady diet of farmers market vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins ...
