    If the majority wants more than 21M coins and bitcoin can't adapt, people will leave and use something else. What protects the 21M limit isn't immutability and decentralization, it is that it is good and people want to keep it.

    1/ People say that there will only ever be 21M bitcoins. But the 21M cap can be changed if there is consensus. The cap isn't real. No properties of cryptocurrencies are real, unless changing them is extremely difficult. What makes changing rules difficult is decentralization.

    I remember planning for the blockchain split in July. Roger wasn't involved then. The split was a grass roots effort by many people who came together to restore Bitcoin back to a peer-to-peer electronic cash system. It survives because many more people now recognize its value.

    Did knowingly make these errors. When he found out about the mistake did he publicly apologize and quickly make the corrections or has had to make these changes on his behalf? Or does he just want to spread propaganda and run?

    Damn... 's article has been corrected 4x now. ... 4x!!! Mistakes should be corrected and there should be no room for politics.

    5/ Big picture: I have nothing against Ripple or XRP. It's not a scam. It may have a killer use case. Just need to acknowledge that more than 50% of XRP are owned by one company, and most trusted nodes are run by that same company, and some assets on ledger can be frozen.
