    I spent October 2016 embedded in the Unaccompanied Children program. The vast majority are placed with family members, typically verified through birth certificates and sometimes DNA testing. /1

    The police made this same announcement about folks at the airport at LAX during protests immediately following the Muslim Ban.

    For two days, residents in Portland have surrounded the local ICE detention center with a 24 hr encampment. Tonight, without a fucking shred of irony, ICE agents complained those blocking their trucks were "keeping them apart from their families."

    This just in from : Border Patrol has reached out to and said they are "very uncomfortable" with the use of the word cages. They say it's not inaccurate and added that they may be cages but people are not being treated like animals.
