VMware Studio is available at no charge to partners and developers who want to create innovative virtual appliances. Virtual appliances that are packaged in Open Virtualization Format (OVF) are platform independent and can be seamlessly deployed within any cloud that supports this industry standard.
Learn more about how to build virtual appliances in our white paper (pdf).
Developers can market their virtual appliances on the VSX regardless of partnership status. They can create a virtual appliance listing, post support statements and upload resources to educate end users about their virtual appliance. Registered users who download resources and virtual appliances result in a lead being created within the VSX.
Using the features of the VSX, customers, developers and partners create a dynamic community of users. The community facilitates discussion, collaboration, and accelerated development cycles within our virtualization ecosystem.
Customers have the ability to rate and review virtual appliances on the VSX. These ratings and reviews will help other customers assess solutions and will provide developers with valuable feedback.
