+Microsoft seems still have a relaxed attitude to security #vulnerabilities and you can still count on that fixes are done slowly by #microsoft and will still be less secure over time than the open source counterparts like #Linux and #BSD where fixes are pushed out more rapidly.
The question you should ask yourself, why pay for a product which do not get rapid updates when you can get rapid updates for most Linux distributions for free.
