I had to share Pure Imagination on #MusicMonday for Gene.
2016 can knock it off already.

In the track titled “Musique Isotype,” I’m using chopped up and processed basketball sounds to create fractured rhythms and bouncing conflagrations of sound. Basketball sounds are a fantastic source of inspiration for a musician, I find, but to really benefit from the variety and elasticity of basketball rebound sounds, I had to swab entire training sessions, rather than merely sample a short rebound.

Great project from NoisyToys on vimeo:
The violins (except for the prototype we made in advance) were mounted on frames, fitted with Auto Strummers (old computer fans with flails) and linked up to an Arduino controlled power supply during MakeFest at Manchester’s Museum of Science and Industry, 20-21 August 2016.

The fist Arduino-controlled violins for the Mechanised String Section of the Recycled Robot Orchestra. No, they haven't been tuned yet! These will be joined…

https://blog.adafruit.com/2016/08/29/installation-creates-a-digital-orchestra-of-swamp-sounds-arduinomonday/
via ArduinoBlog
Developed by media artist Bojana Petkovic, Swamp Orchestra is an interactive sound installation that mimics the natural chorus of swamp creatures. The project is comprised of 16 light-sensitive sound modules, with each one producing noises from insects, frogs, amphibians, birds and other organisms. Each module responds to a flashlight, and the sound varies based on the amount of the light.

Shared publicly -My Music Monday video for today is a collab with the amazing +Daniel Jun Kim!
It's part of a brand new album where all the songs were co-written by Daniel Jun Kim (And it's super cool!!). Check the album out here: https://popmythology.bandcamp.com/album/pop-mythology-friends
Daniel not only is an incredible person that supports so many indie creators, the community he brought together through his blog Pop Mythology, and writes some truly kick-ass articles... He's also somehow fighting a debilitating chronic illness too.
Every purchase of the album goes towards his medical and living expenses- definitely a worthy cause!! Personally, for me, I can not overstate how much of an inspiration Daniel has been. It's worth checking out!
