Get your Let's Encrypt™ certificate with DNSimple
With Let's Encrypt™, we provide a fully automated way to
request, renew, and install your next SSL certificate.
Automated
No need for manual intervention. We take care of the domain validation automatically, using the DNS-based validation. No more emails to wait for and approve.
Auto-renewal
Less things to worry about. Your certificate will be automatically renewed before the expiration.
Free
Let's Encrypt certificates are included in the DNSimple subscription plans at no additional charge.
Why is SSL important?
Encryption
SSL certificates provide encrypted connections between your web browser and the website that you are visiting.
Security
The data transmitted between your web browser and the web site cannot be read without being decrypted.
Protection
This protects your information from being able to be spied on by a third-party.
How does it work?
-
1. Obtain your certificate
Select the Let's Encrypt as the Certificate Authority for your next certificate.
-
-
2. Configure
Enter the name and contact for the certificate.
The common name might be defaulted depending on your plan.
The SAN (Subject Alternative Name) might not be available depending on your plan.
-
-
3. Request
Sit back and relax, DNS is happening.
We automatically create DNS records in order to validate the domain.
Your domain must be resolving through dnsimple's name servers in order for this to work.
-
-
4. Install
Install the certificate on your webserver like you usually do.
If you have selected the auto-renewal option, before the certificate expires, we send you an email that your new certificate files are ready to be uploaded to your webserver.
This reminder is also available as a webhook.
