new_user Oh, I really liked this book! You can really see all the precursors to modern romance. That was really fun to read, and I loved the ending, romantic. Hope you enjoy it!

Danielle The Book Huntress (Back to the Books) I hope the ending is happy. It's really sad so far.

Danielle The Book Huntress (Back to the Books) I'm glad to hear that. I want things to work out for Jane. I'm still in her childhood and she's suffered so much already.

new_user Yes, it's amazing how Bronte was able to communicate so much in the little details, like the intensity of Rochester's dark eyes, etc. She did a lot with so little, compared with today's romances where we're free to describe the hero's tight breeches, height, etc. LOL.

Danielle The Book Huntress (Back to the Books) You're so right. All the passion was there and it was very clean at the same time. I think she was a really good writer.

Tanya Hanson Fantastic book, which is why it has survived for more than 150 years on lists everywhere. I read it first in seventh grade and my heart broke, then healed.

Lisa Kay Wonderful review, Lady Danielle! We romance readers owe a lot to this book. So many archtypes were set.

Isabella Nice review:) Don't worry about not reviewing it the way you wish you could. I think you did a good job regardless; this is a difficult book to review, I think, simply because it's such a classic and can touch one in such profound ways! One of my all-time favourites, even preferred to Wuthering Heights:) Glad you enjoyed it:)
