Before you blow your top about the rating I'm giving this book, remember that I'm not the best reviewer of the romancy type books. I'm more like one of those dirty old women on Goodreads.
And normally I do LOVE this author. But this one just fell flat for me. It was too dang sweet. Now my husband is actually a very sweet man. Let's face it. The man is a saint for putting up with me on a daily basis.

The Cold Fury series by Sawyer Bennett is one of my favorite series. I love these guys so much and hope that we continue to get more books featuring new players.
Max is the starting goalie for the Carolina Fury, so newer to the series, but I quickly fell in love with this down to earth, selfless guy. I read this about a month ago and was not inspired to write a review. It was cute and sweet, but nothing earth shattering. I do VERY much appreciate "safe" books, but I still need something more. Some heat, or a little drama or just something. I kept waiting for something to happen in this book but nothing ever did. I felt like I could have this on audio in the background and not pay attention to it. But I like this author and I am looking forward to trying the next one in the series.
I never get tired of The Cold Fury hockey team. I really loved that the guys from the previous books appeared in Max. It just once again proved and reaffirmed that this series is all about friendship, loyalty and family.
If you've read Hawke then there's some scenes that you might recognize since these two stories intertwine. It worked seamlessly and I enjoyed being in the company of Hawke and Vale.

Another great Cold Fury novel. We briefly see Max way back in the first books and he's injured making way for Ryker. Now Ryker has retired, and Max is healthy. This book takes place at the same time as Hawke's, so we get to see Hawke and Vale. Plus there's tons of the rest of the Cold Fury crew. Jules has no idea who Max is when they meet, and he loves that. Jules is head strong and determined to do it her way, but Max steps in and helps her. The whole drama with the kid's ...more

All the feels for this sweet, sexy & passionate man.
For me this book ticked all the right boxes, I seriously loved MAX.
From the first page I was hooked. The storyline kept me turning the pages, the characters were likable, relatable and the chemistry between them was off the charts!
Watching Max and Jules's romance unfold brought out all the feels, I loved how they were together, they were cute, loving and supportive to each other and not once did I think they ...more
