Mehraan Keval, '18, is spending the 2018-19 academic year in Stockton, Calif., working with Mayor Michael Tubbs, '12, MA '12, to study the effectiveness of the city's universal basic income program, which gives $500 a month to hundreds of randomly selected low-income households with no strings attached.
