Got broken in to while at home by SameSignificance24 in Switzerland

[–]aureleio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to my sister - using a crowbar they pry the door upwards (the pins were locking vertically) and so it lifted out. I think modern doors the pins go horizontal in, so this is less often an issue.

Any founders dealt with incorporating in Canada (or UK) vs US? by TheInvisibleHandjob in ycombinator

As an international founder about to do a flip (more painful than expected), I think you should just incorporate in Delaware but not sure what are the downsides.

WiFi on SBB trains(public transit) by Loose_Succotash4569 in Switzerland

They added 4G/5G amplifiers in many trains ensuring perfect connections all along the lines. I can do zoom calls with no interruptions on Swisscom.

IMO better decision

Internet Connectivity in Patagonia by aureleio in Patagonia

Yes 100% perfect working connection during our time in Argentinian Patagonia! (I worked remotely daily with hours of zoom/slack calls)

Also could run from the car battery if any power problems…

The SBB lost their 2nd best railway company of Europe in the T&E rankings, because the prices indicated were with the half fare. by yesat in Switzerland

Agree it’s low quality. Also the weighting of the Compensation metric is weighted at 10%… so basically let’s just offer crappy reliability and/or poor frequency and we can compensate if the service doesn’t deliver…

Train vs Bus question. by brinerbear in transit

[–]aureleio 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because trains/subways/dedicated RoW trams LRT are a high quality experience if managed properly, and that’s a good reason to leave your car at home.

If I need to leave my car at home to be squashed into a bus sitting in the same traffic (no bus lanes, no transit signal priority, etc.) frankly what is the point?

Just look at cities and countries with a solid public transit modal split and you have the proof.

Yes - Why take a bus if you can just drive a car?

I hate buses, trains rule.

Patagonia/Chile Trip Suggestions - 50th Anniversary by GoodHighlight8510 in Patagonia

[–]aureleio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we went to Javier Rousseau south of Talca (not really Patagonia) they make amazing País wine, this is a bit more of an off the beaten track tasting. They also make wine for Garage Wine Co.

Further south, basically as south as you can go, was Bodega Kütralkura the wine maker was amazing https://maps.app.goo.gl/qUknUtG6eNfzR2J58?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy

And if you go there please visit the volcano, it was a total highlight of our trip: https://maps.app.goo.gl/b1JEoA1SdnB81iBX8?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy
