TIL Up until the late 19th century in Naples, pasta was a street food eaten with bare hands. People would tilt back their head and lower the pasta into their open mouths, often one uninterrupted fistful after another. Tourists would come to Naples just to watch the locals eat in the streets. TIL: Aretha Franklin’s father, C.L. Franklin, was a famous civil rights activist. Known as “the Man With the Million Dollar Voice,” he was a friend to MLK Jr and a successful minister. TIL of the January 7th, 1994 crash of United Express Flight 6291. The plane was on approach to land when it struck a stand of trees, causing it to crash into a warehouse.
