Thanks for the response.

To be honest - we're not sure entirely what we will be doing but definitely want to hit some of the more commons things such as the tower, change of the guards at the palace - etc.

We'll be arriving at LHR from SFO - landing in the very early afternoon.

I'll also check the wiki for further advise :)

Fuck Newegg. Use Hover Hound - it will compare the item's newegg price vs amazon. The monitor is up for $599 on Amazon and may actually drop down to $580 according to CamelCamelCamel.

Agreed - but such was the case in my situation; the road had a 45 MPH limit from the point I got on it from a highway offramp.

That would be a valid fact... except the road I was travelling on has a 45 MPH limit at the point I got on it (highway offramp) and continues like that for quite some distance.

Thankfully he sent me on my merry way after I denied any drinking but I concur; the town this happened at will pull you over for the smallest of things - such as briefly having one of your tires touch the lane dividers... culminating in a K9 unit sniffing your car for drugs. Yeah.

I got pulled over like this as well - cop asked me if I knew how fast I was going - I say "yes, 45." He proceeds to tell me that the speed limit is 40. I lean forward, point at the speed limit sign right in front of my car that says 45.

Cop looks at the sign, then looks at me and then asks "Have you been drinking tonight?"

Cuz I mean - I'm so inebriated that I'm seeing shit, amirite?

Edit: to clarify - the section of the road I was on has a 45 MPH limit from the point I got on it (from a highway off ramp).

Sub no longer turns on when set to "auto" - wireless transmitter issue? by mcfuzzum in hometheater

Thanks! I’ll play with settings and see if I can get it to behave any better. I’ve read about the y splitter trick - won’t hurt.

So! An update!

I changed the front speaker to small and cranked up a bassy song (Legend Has It by RTJ) - sub kicked in right away at relatively low volume. I then tried some less bassy songs and come to realize that the sub doesn’t kick in if the volume is low and the song isn’t very bassy - just as you said. However if I force turn it on - there’s definitely bass as it’s thumping.

I’m pretty sure such wasn’t the case - the sub would always auto turn on at low volumes as we’ve often watch movies when the kids are at home and asleep... is it possible something is degrading where it doesn’t react as well as it has before?

Unrelated question: my AVR has bass setting called LFE and LFE+Main. I currently have to set it to LFE+Main in order for the sub to be recognized... is that normal?

Also - if I have the sub output go to the LFE port on the wireless transmitted and to the LFE port on the sub from the wireless receiver - why, when I turn the crossover knob to LFE (which is max crossover setting I guess) it makes warbling sounds? I have it setup at 120 Hz which is where it was from the get-go - but just curios...

I did try some very bassy musing - PPK Resurrection... teehee lol.

Sub is Episode Evolution ES-SUB-EVO6-100-BLK and the wireless kit is ES-SUB-WIRELESS (imaginative, I know) - all made by SnapAV.

Ok I’ll set the speaker to small and test it and yes - I have an iPhone with music which I tested thru BT and it too failed.

Being how touching the rca cable causes sub to sense a signal and turn on - does that exonerate the sub as the culprit?

I haven’t changed any speaker settings since they day the shop I bought it from set it up. Front speaker has been set to large, surround and center are small. I believe the bass level is set to +4db.

Does it matter at all that if pull the rca cable from the wireless receiver and touch it (while still plugged into the sub) - it would instantly start up?

Unable to set a subnet as allowed in without auth by mcfuzzum in PleX

11.x.x.x is they LAN subnet - it’s routing through the VPN. Let’s say a box on their end had the IP address of 11.1.1.10 - if it tries to ping a box on my end, the source IP is 11.1.1.10. Thus why I’m perplexed that Plex is it ignoring my 11.1.1.0/24 rule but fine with 11.1.1.10 rule...

That is a negative; don't see how OpenVPN is invalid... And no, I don't want to do 10.1.1.1/8; I have different subnets for a reason.
