Chasing a dream
Sometimes all you need to reach your fitness goals is a little extra motivation. That’s the idea behind Pounce the Pavement, introduced last fall as part of The School of Physical Education and Tourism Management’s “150 Days of Impact” initiative. Through personal training and races like the Monumental Marathon, the goal is to help others make a lifelong commitment to healthy activity.

Honoring a legacy
In honor of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., the IUPUI community decided to make this year’s day off a day of service. Hundreds of IUPUI students, faculty, and staff volunteered at sites across Indianapolis, such as the Athenaeum Theater, to honor Dr. King’s commitment to service and social justice.

Joining forces overseas
The School of Engineering and Technology at IUPUI and Tsinghua University, China’s top-ranked university, have signed an agreement that will result in joint research on autonomous cars capable of sensing their environment and navigating with no human input. The signing took place during a weeklong trip by an Indiana University delegation to South Korea and China.
