    Tired of this "Core is decentralized, anyone can contribute" falsehood. If you've been reading the Bitcoin mailing lists *at all* in the last four years, you know this is false. Many ideas get laughed out of the room on the basis of "not having consensus" by the same 5-10 guys.

    Capping blocksize makes *fees* grow exponentially as opposed to the network size. Jeff warned of this. As did Gavin.

    Fellow Bitcoiners, are you ever going to realize how problematic these fees are getting? Avg fees now over $40 per tx. A year ago avg fee was $4. A year prior, $0.40. Growing faster than price, and exponentially with usage. We just spent $4800 to move 15 BTC in one TX.

    Let’s take a couple steps back and remind ourselves that the huge fees are only there because of an artificial block size cap that was put in place to prevent spam in the early days with the intention of being removed in time, never being removed by Core Devs to promote their L2

    Satoshi Nakamoto envisioned bitcoin as a currency for "small casual transactions." Skyrocketing fees are making that impossible.

    Regardless of what scaling solution you support, if you deny that Bitcoin fees are a serious problem you lose a lot of credibility. Fees are at such a point that Bitcoin is now unusable by a lot of users who were previously using it regularly.
