    In the era of fake news and disinformation this Ukrainian sting operation that got the whole journo community weeping is going to pose some very interesting questions for journalists, and is very likely to backfire.

    This is mad. Surely there are other ways to catch a would-be assassin than faking the murder? Distressing family and friends and kind of undermining the credibility of those who reported it... Do the media need to insist on seeing the body to report future deaths?

    Just watching press conf. They’ve essentially blown cover of 1 of Russia’s most senior GRU operatives in near abroad. Former Minister of Def in S Ossetia, before Ukraine. Phenomenal OSINT. Can’t help but think the Russians are watching with grudging admiration.
