    Will add that you still see vestiges of that old cross party collegiality in the Canadian Senate. However, and ironically, it’s precisely this gov’s demonization of partisanship itself that has caused the most toxic partisan divide I’ve seen since I arrived 9 years ago.

    Among the many interesting conversational threads: Sally Quinn describing the Washington she knew where Dems and GOP would dine together after work. I’m sure it was the same in Ottawa in the 60s and 70s. Much of that civility in politics has been lost. A crying shame.

    Among the many interesting conversational threads: Sally Quinn describing the Washington she knew where Dems and GOP would dine together after work. I’m sure it was the same in Ottawa in the 60s and 70s. Much of that civility in politics has been lost. A crying shame.

    Just think of how bizarre this is. Toronto property taxpayers are paying for emergency housing for refugee claimants as the result of the federal government's lack of leadership on border security. This is not what property taxes are for. The feds broke it, they need to fix it.

    There is so much strain on our social services systems (eg. welfare, housing, employment, health, education) it DOES NOT make any sence what-so-ever to allow more uncontrolled immigration. It's just going to perpetuate more poverty and "create" distention in migrant communities!

    Worth pointing out that a report in the left-leaning Guardian, following the raid on Hussain’s house, quoted a highly-regarded forensic chemist who said of carfentanil: “I don’t view it as a narcotic, I view it as a toxin & a potential WMD agent”

    Fair play to Linda Frum, who is right more often than wrong. But you have to make at least three leaps in logic to convolute a "Hussain WMD bust" out of the known facs here.

    I am well aware of these facts, and other relevant facts - the court ordered Farhad Hussain to live in that house, & the carfentanil was being "cut" for street sale as a drug - & of course the absence of any evidence at all to support a "Hussain WMD bust" characterization.
