    Damn, the RSS feed reader I use (feedly) has introduced ads, and then made them difficult to remove with Adblock. So naturally I don't want to use them anymore I hate to be old fashioned, but can anyone recommend a good RSS reader? I miss Google Reader :(

    Concerning to hear the Police Deputy Commissioner frame the issue of Police sharing info with private investigators as them "going above and beyond" the requirements of the OIA That's not the problem, and they typically don't. The problem was a disregard for the right to privacy

    The state has a monopoly on the use of force, and Police are the main way it is exercised. How it used is a key measure of us as a democracy. Summary reports aren't sufficient.

    Hey - transparency of police use of force is important to maintaining public confidence. You should be telling them to publish this data pro-actively, not letting them delay and obstruct OIA requesters with fees.

    Given my analysis of this data, when it has been released previously, has not shown Police in a positive light, I can't help but wonder if that may have influenced their decision here.

    NZ Police have just told me they won't release their use of force data for Jan-Jun 2018, which they have released three times in the past for equivalent periods, unless I pay them a fee of $684-$836 This refusal came days after the request was due to be completed
